Fairisle creates beautifully bright but soft patterns if you choose your colours wisely and don’t go for all out contrast. I have used Rowan’s Felted Tweed DK, as the tweediness resembles the original Shetland yarns and also helps soften the colour. The Fairisle pattern in this scarf is only at each end, and uses only two colours in a row.
